Giancarlo Stanton’s first game as a New York Yankee went well.  In his first official at bat, the newest Bronx Bomber blasted an opposite field homerun.

If it looks like the ball left in hurry, that’s because it did.  The nerds claim it’s the hardest opposite field homerun ever tracked by StatCast at just over 117 MPH.

Stanton later added an RBI double and another homerun.  Pretty good debut for last year’s National League MVP.

Stanton’s big day earned him the postgame interview and some alone time with the YES Network’s Meredith Marakovits.
