According to the the caption information from USA Today, the Yankees were filming a “video spot” in the cafeteria and Yankees slugger Giancarlo Stanton was having a very difficult time opening up a pickle jar.
His teammate Ronald Torreyes was there for the assist, Stanton’s struggle face says it all, and this wasn’t part of the script. He truly could not open the jar of pickles.
According to ESPN’s Hit Tracker, Stanton had hit three of the 12 longest home runs in baseball last season, and five longer than 465 feet, but the dude can’t even open a jar of pickles. That’s rich.
