Carmelo Anthony’s time in Houston lasted only 10 games before the Rockets figured out it wasn’t going to work. On Thursday afternoon Houston made it official and released him.
Carmelo Anthony’s brief stop with the Houston Rockets is over, league sources tell ESPN. Anthony will part ways with team, although there are no immediate plans to place 10-time All-Star on waivers. Team announcement is expected before Rockets play Golden State tonight.

The good news for Melo is that there are at least three teams interested in the 34-year-old forward’s services. Also good news is that he’s still relevant enough to be made fun of.
Shortly after the news broke that Melo’s time in Houston had come to an end, former NBA player turned internet troll, Gilbert Arenas, poked fun at him with a very funny video of a husky kid launching and badly missing a three pointer.
The only thing missing from this video is Melo’s trademark hoodie. Arenas has clearly found his second career.
