A member of Chandler’s Basha High School varsity basketball who wears No. 24 hit a buzzer-beater on Tuesday night just days after the tragic passing of Kobe Bryant, who wore the same number.

The player is Trenton McLaughlin, according to MaxPreps, and is one of the captains of the varsity basketball squad.

A video posted to Twitter by Brayden Nako showed the score as 48-48 with 4.3 seconds remaining. Basha started the play on the opposite end of the court but successfully completed a drive down the length of the court to get the ball to McLaughlin, who hit an off-balance, last-second three-point attempt in the corner that went in off the glass.

The video’s caption was simply, “For Kobe.” ESPN’s SportsCenter was among those to share the video.
