Isaiah Thomas spoke to the media on Saturday afternoon during the Lakers shoot around for the first time since joining his new team.

Thomas said all of the right things about helping his new team and not messing up what they had going.

When asked about being a mentor to Lonzo Ball, part of what Thomas told reporters that he was in his prime and not taking a backseat to anybody.

“My job is to help where I can.  I’m still in my prime so it’s not like I’m taking a backseat to anybody.  I’m here to be who I am and I’m here to make a difference on this team, and I’m excited about the opportunity.”

How long before Thomas is complaining about coming off the bench and tearing the locker room apart?  It took 15 games for him to wear out his welcome in Cleveland.
