Nobody expected the Lakers to make a run at The Finals this season.  Most did however expect the arrival of LeBron James to mean Los Angeles would make it to the playoffs.

That looks more and more unlikely with each loss they rack up.  Despite claiming to have activated playoff mode early this year, the 34-year-old has been unable to carry his team.

During Monday night’s loss to the Clippers, it became clear that LeBron had deactivated playoff mode.  In addition to playing very little defense since announcing he was activating playoff mode, he did this:

This is an absurd move.  Who does this in the NBA?  You might let the ball roll to half-court, but you don’t let it roll all the way to the other side of the court, and you certainly don’t pick the ball up and immediately launch a three.  

Playoff mode has been officially deactivated.
