Early in the second quarter of Monday night’s Chiefs and Rams game, as Andy Reid complained about a questionable pass interference call that went against his team, a referee was seen winking at Rams quarterback Jared Goff.

The pass interference call occurred when a Chiefs defensive back made contact with a receiver in the end zone.  The call was questionable because the ball was tipped at the line making the contact legal.

Reid challenged the call and it was overturned.  There were concerns prior to the game that the NFL was rigging the game by bringing in officials as they do in the playoffs, an unheard of move for a regular season game.

This wink probably isn’t going to help quiet those conspiracy theories.  The NFL is going to have to address this wink.
