The Blake Bortles era has come to an end in Jacksonville.  He’s now the backup quarterback for the Rams and Nick Foles has taken over as the Jaguars starter.

But that doesn’t mean the Jaguars aren’t still talking about their former QB1.  The latest to throw shade at Bortles is cornerback A.J. Bouye, who was also a teammate of the former first-round pick at UCF.

Bouye pointed out how much better than Bortles, Foles is and how that’s going to make their defense better too.

Via Jags Wire:

“It’s frustrating because you have a really good quarterback and it’s certain plays we were making in past years where you’re there and you make the right breaks and everything, but the ball is only where the receiver can catch it,” Bouye said of Foles. […] For example, there was a deep ball that I broke up but, you could tell from the way he was pumping the ball that he was trying to get the safety off the field then come back to his reads. We weren’t seeing that a lot [in the past] and it’s only going to make us better.”

There will continue to be shade thrown Bortles’ way, until the Foles era is in full swing.  It won’t bother Bortles one bit.  He didn’t let criticism affect him while he was in Jacksonville and he’s not going to start now.
