There were multiple reports that Redskins quarterback Alex Smith had multiple surgeries on his broken leg after the injury became infected. The speculation has been that the injury is now career threatening.
On Sunday, FOX Sports’ Jay Glazer confirmed that the multiple surgeries due to infection has threatened to end Smith’s career.

If the injury does end Smith’s career he will still be paid $31 million. The next two seasons of his contract with the Redskins are guaranteed.
Hopefully Smith doesn’t have any further complications and if he wants to resume his career, he’s able to do so. If it does end up being a career ending injury, we hope it doesn’t impact his quality of life.
