Red Sox designated hitter, JD Martinez, recorded his 1,000th career hit against the Mariners on Sunday.  The hit came in the form of three-run home run.

Why record your 1,000th on a single when you can launch a home run instead?  The three runs were not enough and Boston managed to lose the game 10-8.

The reigning World Series champions are off to a slow start to the 2019 season and dropped three out of four in Seattle to open the season.  Their pitching has been the problem as they’ve given up the most runs in baseball.

It’s still early and unfortunately they have plenty of time to figure things out and right the ship.
