Jim’s daughter, Erin, also posted to social media to announce her father’s release from the hospital.

What a blessing it has been to take care of my dad while he was in the hospital the last few weeks. He was discharged today! There’s still a lot of healing to do over the next month or two, but we are trusting God one day at a time! Thank you to everyone who has been praying. We love you! #KellyTough #PrayersForJK

Kelly’s doctor released a statement saying he’s been released after an “extremely favorable recovery.”

“Mr. Kelly was discharged from the hospital today after an extremely favorable recovery,” said Dr. Mark Urken, who treated Kelly. “The speed of that process, considering the extensive nature of his surgery, was a function of his toughness, the firmness of his resolve, his faith and the support of his family. All of those factors will continue to serve him well as he moves on to the next phase of his rehabilitation.”

Great news for the Kelly family.  Let’s hope this latest surgery was able to get rid of his cancer for good.
