The Washington Wizards drafted Gonzaga forward Rui Hachimura with the ninth overall pick on Thursday night making him the first Japanese born player drafted in the first-round.
Hachimura was welcomed to his new team by the injured face of the franchise John Wall, who FaceTimed the rookie during a photo shoot.

Wall and Hachimura aren’t likely to be on the floor together anytime soon. Wall is still recovering from a ruptured Achilles he suffered while nursing a different injury last season.
But the Wizards are paying Wall a ton of money and as long as he’s on the roster he will be the face of the franchise, injured or not.
