Johnny Manziel went on The Dan Patrick Show on Monday morning and came out as John Manziel. The former Memphis Express quarterback revealed during his appearance that he goes by John these days.

During his visit, John Manziel revealed he’s working with George Whitfield again and that he had no regrets about playing in the CFL. Although he wouldn’t reveal what led to him being kicked out of the league.
Not a chyron typo. Johnny Manziel tells @dpshow he’s going by John Manziel these days. With AAF defunct, he’s working out with George Whitfield now. Has no regrets about going to Canada to play but would not say why he got kicked out. pic.twitter.com/U4xL5rDrtK

You have to wonder if his split from the CFL is in any way related to his split from his wife Bre Tiesi. The two things seemed to have taken place at almost the same time and he hasn’t really talked about either one.
One day the story will come out, for now it’s all about the rebrand.
Manziel’s decision to rebrand himself is a smart one. Johnny Manziel is an NFL bust who will never get back into the league. John Manziel played a couple of games in the AAF and deserves a shot in the league.
