Falcons wide receiver Julio Jones was a no-show at the first day OTAs on Monday.  Atlanta’s top target skipped out on off-season activities last year and settled for a contract adjustment right before training camp.

Last year’s contract adjustment came with the promise of a new deal this off-season.  Without a new deal in place you can expect Jones to skip off-season activities again this year.

The longer the Falcons wait, the more it’s going to end up costing them.  Antonio Brown’s new deal with the Raiders averages $18 million a year, almost twice as much as Jones is due the next two seasons.

The Falcons better get their stuff together if they want Julio to stick around.  He isn’t likely to settle for anything less than a new annual record for receivers.
