In the end Kawhi Leonard signed with the original team he was linked to, the Los Angeles Clippers.  It took a trade with OKC for Paul George to pull it off, but they got the deal done.

According to reports, Kawhi and his camp thoroughly enjoyed watching reports that he was signing with every team, but the Clippers.  According to Chris B Haynes of Yahoo Sports, they found it “comical” and enjoyed keeping everyone guessing.

The Lakers apparently had a legitimate shot at signing Leonard, but the information that was leaked about his conversations with Magic Johnson put an end to that.

What a start to the NBA off-season.  Both the Nets and the Clippers were able to land superstar free agents over the more famous teams that share their cities.  The power in the NBA has once again shifted.
