The Spurs and Kawhi saga has now come to an end.  Kawhi Leonard’s trade to the Toronto Raptors is official.  On Tuesday night he passed his physical and is now a Canadian (that’s how it works right?).

Via ESPN:

The players had a week to report to their teams and pass physicals.

Leonard last played on Jan. 13. He sat out the rest of the season to manage a quad injury and ended up playing only nine games for San Antonio.

Spurs doctors had cleared Leonard to return to play, but he sought second opinions and did not return, making his health a question mark following the trade.

It looks like Kawhi has no reason not to take the floor next season.  He’s now been cleared by multiple doctors and if he does sit out next season, because he doesn’t want to play for the Raptors, he will not be able to hit free agency after the season.
