The Nets and Kenny Atkinson mutually decided to part ways on Saturday. The surprising move comes as Brooklyn occupies one of the playoff spots with just 20 games left in the season.
According to rumors, it was the players, led by Kyrie Irving, who ended up getting Atkinson fired. GM Sean Marks has a different version of events.
In both versions of events, Atkinson lost the locker room. Nets star Kevin Durant, who said he picked Brooklyn in part because of Atkinson, declined to comment on the firing.
