Despite having their seasons end with devastating injuries, both Klay Thompson and Kevin Durant could still sign max contracts.  And they could do so with Golden State.

According to ESPN’s Brian Windhorst, the Warriors are still planning to offer both stars max deals.

Both players could be planning to re-sign with them too.  Klay’s father, Mychal, revealed that he overheard a FaceTime conversation between his son and KD.

Mychal wouldn’t divulge the details of what the two talked about, but seemed to hint that they plan to return when he said they have “unfinished business.”

Via ESPN:

“I heard them talking,” Klay’s father, Mychal, said of the conversation. “But I don’t think they’d want me to divulge it.”

Durant was probably the only person in the world who could relate to exactly what Thompson was feeling in that moment. His dad knew to give them space.

“They were encouraging each other to come back strong,” Mychal Thompson said. “They got unfinished business.”

Unfinished business?  Are they going back to the Warriors or teaming up on another team?  Both of them will probably miss significant time next season, but in the years following next season there could be some winning to be had.
