This year’s NBA off-season promises to be an entertaining one.  On the same day it was reported that Kyrie Irving was going to team up with Kevin Durant in New York, Stephen A. Smith reported that Irving is going to meet with the Lakers during the off-season.

Smith did make sure to point out that he didn’t say Kyrie was joining the Lakers, only that he will grant them an interview.  Which could indicate that he knows Kyrie has no intentions of reuniting with LeBron in Los Angeles.

It’s hard to tell which scenario makes more sense for Kyrie.  In both cases he’ll be looked at as the number two guy and that’s a position he didn’t want to be in when he was in Cleveland.

It’s possible he’s past that and just wants to win.  Which would make either spot an interesting destination.  We’re going to sit back, grab some popcorn and watch it all unfold during the off-season.
