The Los Angeles Lakers have ended their head coaching search. On Saturday it was announced that they have hired Frank Vogel to be their head coach.
According to Adrian Wojnarowski, Vogel’s contract is for three years.

On piece of Vogel’s coaching staff has also been hired. Jason Kidd has agreed to join the Lakers in a prominent assistant coaching role.

It sounds like the Lakers are hiring their next two head coaches. Do teams normally hire their new head coach and his replacement at the same time?
