The Clark County District Attorney’s office will not file charges against soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo over allegations that he sexually assaulted a Nevada woman in 2009.

The D.A.’s office said in a statement Monday that a request for prosecution was submitted on July 8th after Las Vegas Metropolitan Police reopened its investigation last year.

The woman filed a civil suit against Ronaldo last year, alleging he raped her at a Las Vegas hotel in 2009.

According to the D.A.’s office, the alleged assault was reported to LVMPD in 2009, but the woman did not identify an assailant or where the incident took place when she spoke with detectives at the time.
