On Friday, LaMelo Ball was officially reintroduced to the United States high school basketball scene, joining the prep squad at the SPIRE Institute in Geneva, Ohio.

LaVar was present for an introductory press conference at the Olympic training center just outside Ashtabula and offered the following assessment to WKYC’s Will Ujek regarding LaMelo’s place in basketball’s landscape.

Ball received a warm welcome upon arriving in Ohio, with a giant billboard mirroring the famous LeBron James billboard that used to grace the Sherwin Williams building in downtown Cleveland:

The 17-year-old Ball left Chino Hills High School last year to pursue a professional career in Lithuania with Prienu Vytautas.

LaMelo’s coach is also drinking the Melo kool-aid.

His father continues to run his mouth. And now his coach.  Just let the kid play, and let everyone else make the comparisons.
