It was reported back in May that LeBron James met with Kawhi Leonard about joining the Lakers as a free agent. Those reports have continued as we get closer to the start of free agency.
The latest is that LeBron has still been in direct contact with Kawhi, as the Lakers cleared their roster even more to make room for another max player.

There are a lot of max contract player options out there for Los Angeles if Kawhi stays put or joins the Lakers. Obviously adding an NBA Finals MVP would be huge and would all but guarantee a Finals appearance.
