The Lakers finally got LeBron James a superstar. He really wanted Anthony Davis last season for a postseason push, but it’s better late than never.
LeBron took to Instagram to celebrate the deal while announcing that it’s just the beginning.
Now all the Lakers have to do is fill out the rest of their roster. They just sent half of it to the Pelicans.
The deal sent New Orleans Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram, and Josh Hart, along with the 4th overall pick in this year’s draft.
But that’s not all, New Orleans also received a Top-8 protected in 2021, that becomes unprotected in ā22, an unprotected swap in ā23, an unprotected first in ā24 and an unprotected swap in ā25.
As happy as LeBron and the Lakers are you have to be even more excited in New Orleans. They got some young talent, draft picks and Zion Williamson on the way.
What a difference a year makes.
