Illinois head coach Lovie Smith was carried off the field on Saturday following the largest comeback in school history. The Fighting Illini were down 28-3 against Michigan State and won the game 37-34.
The win also made Illinois bowl eligible for the first time in the Lovie Smith era. Despite its start, the day ended up to be a good one for Illinois.
