A 37-year-old man was taken to the hospital after falling out of the stands at Nissan Stadium during the Patriots and Titans game on Sunday.  The fall took place during a t-shirt toss and the man was reportedly in critical but stable condition when he was taken to the hospital.

Thomas Carrico Jr., 37, of Goodlettsville was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center and was in critical but stable condition Sunday night, Metro Police said in a statement.

On Monday, a Vanderbilt spokeswoman said his condition had been upgraded to stable.

The fall occurred during a T-shirt toss in the third quarter when a shirt landed on an awning in the stadium, a witness said. Police said Carrico lost his balance and accidentally fell over a lower level railing and through the awning that covers the home team tunnel.

Barbara Boske, a Metro Nashville dispatch supervisor, said the agency received an emergency call about 2:20 p.m. reporting that a man at the stadium fell “from a balcony onto the concrete below.” Boske said she could not release more information about the man’s injuries.

Glad to hear he’s recovering well.  Now I need to know a couple of things.  What was on the t-shirt and did he end up with the freebie he thought was worth falling onto concrete for?
