Manny Machado was back in Los Angeles as a member of the Padres to take on the Dodgers on July 4th. While on-deck he was heckled by a Dodger fan who gave him a hard time for not re-signing with LA.
The $300 million man responded to the fan’s chirps by making an insane bet. He told bet the heckler his contract that the Padres will win a World Series before the Dodgers do.
“I’ll bet you my contract, we’ll win the World Series before you guys do.”

This is an absolutely insane bet for Machado to make. There’s being confident in your team and then there’s just being a moron.
The Padres are at the bottom of the NL West and aren’t going to be winning the World Series this year. The Dodgers, on the other hand, have made back-to-back World Series appearances and are currently sitting on top of the NL West.
This just proves Machado had no idea what he was doing in free agency.
