The Manny Machado sweepstakes has finally ended.  After weeks of speculation about where he would end up and last minute jockeying by the Brewers and Phillies, the Los Angeles Dodgers came away with the All-Star shortstop.

It took a little bit longer than expected, but the Orioles are reportedly receiving five prospects in return for the free agent to be.

The 26 year old is hitting .315 with 24 home runs and 64 RBIs on the season.  Five prospects is a pretty good return on a trade for a guy who was likely going to walk away from Baltimore at the end of the season.

The Dodgers will need to make it to the World Series for this trade to have been worthwhile for them.  Anything short of that is a failure.
