Oakland Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch remained seated during the National Anthem on Friday night before the Raiders first preseason game.
This is nothing new for Lynch, who started sitting during the anthem last season. He’s never given a reason for sitting, although we can assume he’s joining his fellow NFL players protests.
The NFL’s National Anthem policy hasn’t made a difference in player protests. The league isn’t going to punish any of the protesting players, as they said they would during the off-season.
At this point, the National Anthem protests and accompanying debate may never end.
