On Friday the San Francisco Giants called up outfielder Mike Yastrzemski, the grandson of Hall of Famer Carl Yastrzemski.  On Saturday, the younger Yastrzemski recorded his first Major League hit.

Yastrzemski blooped a pop-up into shallow left that fell between the shortstop, third baseman and leftfielder.  He was hustling out of the box and took a wide turn at first base.

It turned out to be a little too wide and he was thrown out by the leftfielder trying to get back to first base.

It’s not an ideal way to record your first MLB hit, but it’s a good way to make sure you never forget it.
