The Wisconsin Timber Rattlers, a Class A affiliate of the Milwaukee Brewers, won a game walk off style on a strikeout.  The bizarr win came against the Burlington Bees, Class A affiliate of the Los Angeles Angels, on Friday night.

The Bees took a 6-2 lead into the bottom of the 9th inning.  But the Timber Rattlers didn’t back down and rallied to load the bases and plate two runs.

Despite the rally, the Bees had two out and two strikes on the last hitter of the game with their closer Blake Ziemba on the mound.  Ziemba executed a strikeout pitch that should have ended the game, but the catcher couldn’t handle it.

That’s when things got interesting.  The catcher recovered the ball and attempted to complete the strikeout by throwing the batter out at first.  The throw sailed over the first baseman’s head allowing two runs to score easily.

The right fielder recovered the ball and attempted throw out what would be the game winning run.  The runner beat the throw and the Timber Rattlers won the game 7-6 on a walk off dropped third strike.

What a bananas play.
