Better start taking the head out of baseball

Minnesota Twins first baseman announced his retirement on Friday after 15 years in the MLB, all with the Twins.  The Minnesota native pointed to his repeated concussions as the reason to hang up his cleats.

The 35-year-old former number one overall pick in 2001 by the Twins released a statement on the team's website, via the Minnesota Twins:

Mauer switched to first base after a series of concussions playing his favorite position behind the plate.  The concussions followed him to first base, as he suffered one last year diving for a foul ball.

Let's go ahead and get this out of the way, no he is not a hall of famer.  Sorry Twins fans.
