The Daytona 500 ended in tragedy for NASCAR driver Ryan Newman. He was in first place going into the final turn of the last lap when his car was wrecked into the wall before flipping and catching on fire.
Newman left the track on a stretcher instead of celebrating in the winner’s circle. According to officials, he is in serious condition but thankfully does not have any life threatening injuries.
