This doesn’t happen all that often. Not quite as rare as, let’s say Haley’s comet, but pretty fricking rare. All three new York Papers had same back page headline.
The New York Giants are expected to sign offensive tackle Nate Solder, a source told ESPN, confirming a report by NFL Network. Solder will receive a four-year, $62 million contract with a guarantee of $34.8 million, a source tells ESPN.
Not TECHNICALLY one of those rare days all three tabs had same back page headline, because in two cases it was not lead headline. Still: @NewsdaySports, NYP and NYDN all used "Solder of Fortune" somewhere on their back pages. #NYGiants

The minute the news broke the crack staff at all the papers probably all had the same headline pop in their head, and it made it to print! Yes, they still print newspapers if you could believe it.

When your last name is Solder, there’s only going to be so many puns you can use. The most obvious is the one the three papers ran with above. Now if he signed with the Chicago Bears, it would be something like Solder field…You get it.
