Neymar is one of three Paris Saint-Germain players to test positive for COVID-19 after returning from holidays on the Spanish island of Ibiza, sources told ESPN’s Julien Laurens.

The sources identified Angel Di Maria and Leandro Paredes as the other two players to contract the disease.

PSG had confirmed three cases of COVID-19 earlier on Wednesday but didn’t disclose which players had been infected.

Spain is currently experiencing a spike in coronavirus cases amid fears of a second wave.

The players are now expected to self-isolate for the next 14 days. Barring any exceptions, they will miss PSG’s opening Ligue 1 fixtures against Lens (Sept. 10) and Marseille (Sept. 13).

If a Ligue 1 club reports more than three coronavirus cases, it can expect its next match to be postponed. Marseille were forced to reschedule their Ligue 1 opener against Saint-Etienne after confirming four cases among first-team players and staff.
