The Dallas Cowboys took control of thr NFC East last weekend when they beat the Philadelphia Eagles 29-23 in overtime.  It turned out to be an expensive win for running back Ezekiel Elliott.

The NFL handed down over $36k in fines to the Cowboys running back for lowering his helmet while he was being tackled and for a low block.

Via NFL.com:

Elliott was fined a total of $36,765 for lowering his helmet illegally and for executing a low block during the game, NFL Network’s Tom Pelissero reported. He was penalized for the helmet infraction, which occurred during the fourth quarter, but referees didn’t flag him for the low block.

That’s an absurd amount to be fined for these two plays.  Expect Elliott to appeal these fines.
