With the Patriots heading into Week 6 of the 2019 regular season, rumors abound.

The Patriots have climbed from a few bucks on the betting odds boards to win the Super Bowl to the clear-cut leader to win another set of rings. Can the New England Patriots go 16-0? Will they give Antonio Brown another chance? And what about trade rumors and the deadline?

Antonio Brown

AB recently hit the live button on his Instagram account and said that he hopes everyone is having a beautiful and that he’s ready to get back to work. He went on to say, “If you guys follow the #Patriots, tell ‘em call me. They still gotta pay me, so might as well let me earn it.”

Ok. I’m sure the Patriots never thought of that aspect before releasing you. His deal after parting with the Raiders was 9 million on a guaranteed contract which could turn into a total of 15 million if everything worried. It only took two weeks and one game to have the talk of sexual misconduct and some instant messages cause the Pats to take the safe route and release him. When you think about it, 9 million dollars for two weeks might just break down into the highest-paid NFL contract ever! But it didn’t end there. Antonio Brown decided to poor kerosine on the already raging dumpster fire and take a jab at Robert Kraft for the charges filed against him for paying for sexual services at a ‘massage parlor.’

Now it appears the NFLPA is behind AB and has issued unpaid salary grievances on his behalf to the Raiders and Patriots to the tune of 40 million dollars. These grievances were filed earlier this week, so the NFLPA must think he has a case. That said, it looks like AB is ready to live and let die and wants to work for his money. But the question is whether or not the Patriots view the relationship as too toxic at this point.

Perfect Season for the Pats?

The Patriots defense is the best in the league – at least up until this point–  and the offense isn’t too shabby either, putting up more than 30 points per game. But can they run the table? There are a few games left that could give them trouble. The Baltimore Ravens won’t be a cakewalk, and the Pats also face the Kansas City Chiefs, which could be a preview of the AFC Championship Game. They also have back to back nonconference games against the Eagles and the Cowboys.

They can go 16-0 but it’s a long season and they don’t have an easy schedule. The Chiefs and Ravens games will be particularly fun to watch because we’ll get to see the Ravens No.1 scoring offense go against the No. 1 defense and the Chiefs also have one of the top offenses in the league – as you know.

Trade Rumors

October 29th is the deadline and there are a lot of rumors floating around as to which teams are targeting who. One of the most talked-about is the Eagles going after the Bengals WR, AJ Green. But they may be targeting Jalen Ramsey as well. Could they go after both? It will be interesting to see what kind of a deal they can work out. It’s clear that they need a receiver more than a corner, but at the same time, you can’t overlook one of the league’s top pass-deflectors.

The Patriots are also taking a hard look at Green. And if they come to a deal, you can bet that AB isn’t getting lovingly pulled back into the fold.
