Josh McDaniels has been mentioned as a possible head coach for many NFL vacancies.

Now that is not going to happen.

The Patriots offensive coordinator told reporters on Tuesday “the book is closed” on his interviews and he’ll be in New England moving forward.

McDaniels accepted the head coaching job with the Colts in the 2017 offseason but backed out of the position before he officially anointed the head coach.

McDaniels  remained New England’s offensive coordinator for the 2018 season.

Is the heir apparent to Belichick?

It sounds like it.
