Detroit Lions quarterback Matthew Stafford did a great job of avoiding a sack and started to run for the sideline on a second down and long.  He noticed the defense closing in on him and tried to pitch the ball to a running back who was trailing behind him.

The running back wasn’t expecting the ball and it ended up bouncing over his head, where a Vikings defender picked it up and put the game away with a touchdown.

This play describes the Lions season perfectly.  Every time they do something good, they erase it with a huge mistake.
