The Miami Dolphins fired head coach Adam Gase on Monday after two straight seasons with a losing record, Gase told ESPN’s Jeff Darlington.

The Dolphins finished 7-9 in Gase’s third season in charge, and he’ll leave the team with a 23-25 record and only one playoff appearance.
Gase is expected to be a highly sought-after candidate for head coaching vacancies around the league, added NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

The decision to fire Gase followed a season in which owner Stephen Ross became increasingly frustrated with the culture of his team, according to Albert Breer of MMQB.

Gase, the Denver Broncos’ offensive coordinator in 2013-14, was brought in partly to develop Ryan Tannehill.
The quarterback hasn’t progressed at all, and has struggled to stay healthy behind Miami’s inconsistent offensive line.
