Two responding police officers have provided further details on Jon Jones’ arrest for allegedly driving while intoxicated and negligent use of a firearm.

Jones, 32, was arrested on multiple charges by police on Thursday. He was picked up by authorities just after 1am local time in Albuquerque.

He faces charges of aggravated DWI, negligent use of a firearm, possession of an open container and driving with no proof of insurance.

Jason Brown and Brian Johnson were the two officers who responded to the scene after hearing a gun shot per the arrest records via MMA Junkie.

Officer Brown approached Jones’ vehicle and immediately spotted a bottle of Recuerdo tequila, and a “green leafy substance on his shirt and pants, consistent with marijuana.”

He requested the UFC champion’s registration and proof of insurance after identifying him.

Jones “fumbled with his documents” and was unable to locate the information.

Officer Brown also noticed Jones’ stench which “had an odor of alcohol coming from his facial area.”

Officer Johnson was requested on the scene and placed Jones under arrest for DWI after he alleged failed many field sobriety tests.

Brown then found a loaded gun under the driver’s seat and “a spent round just outside the driver’s door.”
