Ohio State took most of the day on Wednesday to decide on what punishment to hand down to head football coach Urban Meyer.  They suspended him for three games for the mishandling of allegations of domestic violence against assistant Zach Smith.

Meyer held a press conference and admitted he made mistakes and that there were red flags concerning Smith.

Via USA Today Sports:

“I appreciate the opportunity to learn from a mistake,” Meyer said at a press conference. “There were red flags (with Zach Smith). I wish I did a better job knowing things and finding out things. I wish people told me more things. . . . I wish I had known more.

““I want to apologize to the Buckeye Nation. I followed my heart and not my head. … At each juncture I gave Zach the benefit of the doubt.”

Classic Urban Meyer.  He took some blame but managed to blame “people” for not telling him more.

This guy is the worst, unless you’re a guy who wants to continue coaching at one of the top football schools but can’t stop hitting your wife.  Then he’s the best.
