It turns out it’s super hard to hit a 54 MPH ball thrown by someone who does not make a living as a Major League relief pitcher.

Stevie Wilkerson made history on Thursday night, becoming the first position player to earn a save.

The Baltimore Orioles outfielder was forced to come in during the 16th inning of a game against the Los Angeles Angels with his team up 10-8, and he threw a 1-2-3 inning with pitches that averaged a paltry 54.3 MPH.
