The Carolina Panthers drafted a quarterback in the third round on Friday night. With the 100th pick they took West Virginia quarterback and Charlotte area native Will Grier.
No he’s not going to push Cam Newton out of his starting job. I don’t know who these people are, but there are people out there who still doubt the former MVP’s ability.
There are enough of these Cam haters around for the Panthers to clarify the pick.

“Nothing to do with Cam,” Hurney said. “I said he’s our franchise quarterback. This is about depth and bringing in young guys and developing young guys. This has nothing to do with Cam Newton. Cam Newton is our starting quarterback and franchise quarterback. This is just about bringing in young guys to develop and depth.”
There you have it. Grier is a guy with a lot of talent that they’re going to develop and maybe one day he’ll be ready to play, hopefully when Cam’s ready to call it a career.
