There was some big news in Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton’s rehab process. On Thursday night it was reported that he has started throwing regulation sized footballs overhand.
Newton is on schedule and expected to participate in workouts when training camp gets underway.
According to a league source, Carolina Panthers quarterback Cam Newton has begun throwing overhand with a regulation sized football. This is another step in the rehab process, as Newton remains on schedule to be participating in workouts by training camp – team won’t rush him.

This is good news for the Panthers. They will go as far as Newton’s right arm will take them. That was never more obvious than last season when they ended the season losing seven of their last eight games after he injured his shoulder.
Newton was unable to throw the ball down the field at the end of the season and it really limited the Panthers offense. Let’s not forget the month he took off from climaxing, that should lead to a big bounce back season.
