The Knicks aren’t the only team that cleared cap space to sign a couple of big name free agents and struckout on signing any. The Clippers also made room for a couple of max contracts and up to this point haven’t landed one.
Kawhi Leonard is still in play and as he proved in Toronto, he doesn’t need to be surrounded by superstars in order to win. While they wait for his decision the Clippers decided to bring back guard Patrick Beverley.
The ferocious defender landed a 3-year, $40 million deal to return to Los Angeles.

Beverley isn’t a Kyrie Irving or a Kevin Durant, but he is a solid, all energy and heart, basketball player.
