Patriots receiver N’Keal Harry was ruled to have stepped out of bounds prior to diving for the pylon. New England was out of challenges because they had to use them on other bad calls.

A couple of plays after this missed call the Patriots were forced to settle for a field goal. Instead of a three point game, it was a seven point game and made them try for the touchdown at the end of the game instead of a game tying field goal.
