A petition has been put together on Change.org to try to get Maroon 5 to drop out of the Super Bowl Halftime Show in support of Colin Kaepernick.
The group accepted the NFL’s invitation after Rihanna turned it down to show her support for the blackballed former NFL quarterback. The petition already has over 40k signatures.
There are still a few months before the Super Bowl, so it is possible that Maroon 5 backs out. However, it’s highly unlikely that they do so.
If Maroon 5 wanted to support Kaepernick by not playing the show, they probably wouldn’t have accepted it in the first place. But who doesn’t love a good petition?
