When at a Phillies game you have to not only watch out for foul balls and bats, you have to keep your eyes open for flying hot dogs.  During Monday night’s game the Phillie Phanatic injured a woman after launching a hot dog into the stands that hit her in the face.

Her name is Kathy McVay and thanks to her agreeing to do an interview with her local news, we have this amazing clip.

Via ABC 6:

Taking a flying hot dog to the face isn’t exactly what Kathy bargained for when she made her way to the game.

“And then the next thing I know he shot it in our direction, and bam! It hit me like a ton of bricks. My glasses flew,” McVay said.

She explained, “I have a small hematoma in my eye. And mostly, it’s going to get worse before it gets better. It’s going to go down the side of my face.”

“Just to be aware, because you never know. I understand a baseball, but not a hot dog,” she said with a quiet laugh.

McVay is aware of the absurdity of the source of her injury, and she understands if others might giggle too.

“It gives people a good laugh, and if that makes somebody chuckle, then that’s fine,” she said.

Kathy is a big Phillies fan and doesn’t plan to take any legal action.  In fact she was a good sport about the whole thing and even understands if you get a laugh out if her injury.

We need more folks like Kathy in this world.  The hot dog to the face definitely gave us a chuckle.
