Olympic gold medalist Kendall Coyne, fresh off of becoming the first woman to ever participate in the NHL skills competition, was added to the Lightning and Penguins broadcast as an on ice analyst.

During pregame warmups, she had this awkward exchange with NBC Sports hockey broadcaster Pierre McGuire, who thought it was necessary to explain hockey to an Olympic hockey gold medalist.

Coyne seemed to handle McGuire’s insulting tone pretty well.  For those of us without our heads up our asses, her resume speaks for itself.

She’s a Patty Kazmaier Award winner, a five time IIHF gold medal winner, and she’s taken home Olympic gold and silver medals.

You could say she’s fully aware of how hockey works.
